When scar tissue develops inside the penis causing curved erections, this is known as Peyronie’s Disease. More severe bendings can cause great pain in some men, hindering erections. Also, some curvatures will continue to worsen. Besides hindering sexual intercourse, Peyronie’s Disease is a source of stress and anxiety for both partners. This is especially the case if a lack of intercourse prevents fathering children.
Your doctor will examine your member to determine the extent of the scar tissue, potentially using ultrasound or other tests. There has been some success with oral medication for Peyronie’s Disease. For more advanced cases, several surgical methods exist to rectify or eliminate excessive curvature. PRP treatments work well with the blood-laden, penile member, contributing to repair, sensitivity and recovery.
