TRIANGULAR FIBROCARTILAGE COMPLEX TEAR
TRIANGULAR FIBROCARTILAGE COMPLEX TEAR
A triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) tear is an injury to the cartilage structure that cushions and supports the carpal bones in the wrist. It stabilizes the forearm bones (radius and ulna) during grasping or rotation motions. Tears most often result from severe trauma. The TFCC can also experience degenerative conditions from age or overuse.
Current treatments for TCFF tears use immobilization via splints or casts, the use of anti-inflammatory medication, cortisone injection therapy, ultrasound therapy, surgery and prp treatments.
