The plantar fascia is the ligament that connects the heel bone to the toes. When damaged, the plantar fascia becomes inflamed often causing a stabbing pain that is most severe with your first steps in the morning. This condition is known as plantar fasciitis.
Many therapies for plantar fasciitis exist. From foot bracing and strapping to orthotics and physical therapies, such as rest and ice use. Included are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, shockwave therapy, corticosteroids, surgery and prp treatments.
